Cherry Moore Cherry Moore
Cherry Moore is a talented actress and musician hailing from Clearwater River Dene Nation, located in Northern Saskatchewan. Raised in various small Northern Indigenous communities across Saskatchewan, Cherry developed a deep connection to her roots and a passion for the arts, particularly singing and acting. In 2020, seeking new opportunities, she moved to Victoria, BC, at the height of the pandemic, driven by a thirst for life and artistic expression.
Cherry made her acting debut in 2023, starring in the short film If I’m Born I Have to Live Again, written and directed by Caius DesJarles-Bell. The film, which follows a young Indigenous woman, deeply resonated with Cherry, given her own Indigenous heritage. The moment her acting career truly catapulted forward was when she was cast in a lead supporting role in the highly praised production CAMP, written and directed by Avalon Fast. Avalon and Caius had also previously worked together on the set of his first short film, No Picnic. Having gained experience on the large scale production of CAMP, Cherry knew she wanted to pursue acting and remains incredibly grateful to both Caius and Avalon for reaching out and giving her the opportunity to act.
Since then, Cherry's career has gained significant momentum. She reunited with Caius DesJarles-Bell to lend her voice in the short film The Raven, and she is currently working on a feature-length indie film still in production.
In addition to acting, Cherry is an accomplished musician and the frontwoman and rhythm guitarist for the band Cherry Venom. The band's first music video for [Pill Sized Pieces] was filmed and edited by the 2nd Assistant Camera from the CAMP set, which highlights the strong relationships Cherry has fostered in the industry. A passionate supporter of the local arts scene in Victoria, she frequently contributes to the community by planning events, helping with event promotion, and performing.
Cherry's proudest musical moment to date was performing for the UVic CFUV 2025 fundraising event. Looking forward, she is eager to expand her acting portfolio, with a particular interest in exploring a wide variety of genres and roles to bring new characters and directors' visions to life.
