Lakshmy Ramakrishnan

Lakshmy Ramakrishnan is an Indian actor, screenwriter and director working predominantly in Tamil and Malayalam cinema, with credits also in Telugu and Hindi. Active since 2006 on screen (with an early television writing credit dating to 1984), with a body of work spanning close to 50 acting credits, five feature films as writer-director, six short films (two publicly identified), and long-running work as a television host and creative producer, including STAR Vijay's Aval and Disney+ Hotstar's Cooku with Comali. Recipient of three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards (Best Supporting Actress for Uchithanai Muharnthaal, and Best Supporting Actress and Best Sound Design for House Owner) and a South Indian International Movie Award (SIIMA), with additional nominations from the Vijay Awards, Filmfare Awards South, Edison Awards, and Asianet Film Awards, alongside civic and social honours including the Eternal Woman 2018 award and recognition from the Women Economic Forum. Her fourth directorial feature, House Owner, was one of only two Tamil films and one of 21 from across India selected for the Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa, 2019. A frequent speaker and resource person at institutional, corporate and industry forums, including the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy, NASSCOM, DRDO-CVRDE, Infosys, India Today Conclave South, IIT Madras, and colleges including Madras Christian College, NIT Tiruchirappalli, Ethiraj College, Women's Christian College, and Loyola College.
