Esther Vlessing

Esther Vlessing is a Canadian biotech entrepreneur with a passion for acting and songwriting. She was born in Toronto, Ontario, to Dutch parents who emigrated from Amsterdam. Raised with an emphasis on storytelling and self-expression, Esther's childhood was shaped by hours spent in nature, an upbringing that nurtured her imagination, creativity, and the entrepreneurial and artistic path she would follow.

Vlessing began acting as a teenager and has steadily built a career across film and television. She is best known for her roles in Hulu & Disney Onyx's How to Die Alone (2024), VICE's acclaimed series Dark Side of the Ring (2020), and the TLN Studio drama Emerge (2025). She also starred in the short film Brother (2024) as Sammie. Her upcoming feature, Den Mother Crimson (2025), sees her playing Monique Labrie in a Kingston-local production. In addition to acting, Esther gained production experience as a producer intern on the feature Maya & Samar, which shot in Athens, Greece.

Beyond acting, Esther's artistry expands into music. She is set to release her debut EP Driftwood (2025), a reflective pop-folk project produced by Juno-nominated songwriter/producer Kayla Diamond and co-written with NOA. The project carries the same emotional vulnerability and depth that define her on-screen performances.

Esther is also recognized for her entrepreneurial work. She was named to Bay Street Bull's 30 Under 30 Trailblazers and honored by RBC's Women of Influence as "One to Watch."

A storyteller at heart, Esther continues to move fluidly between acting, producing, and music, carving out a career that reflects both her Canadian roots and her Dutch heritage.
