Camilo Escobar Henao is a Colombian filmmaker and co-founder of Rara Cine, a Medellín-based production company. He holds a degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication from the University of Antioquia and has pursued further studies in directing and staging in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
As a director, he has led documentary series for national and international television, including Expreso Colombia, ConSentidos, Propiedad Pública, Expreso Sur (for UNASUR), and Big Cities (for TAL and Señal Colombia). His fiction short films La Herencia (2021) and Un Día de Mayo (2024) have both received awards at Bogota Short Film Festival - BOGOSHORTS.
As a producer, he served as executive producer for the feature film Los Días de la Ballena (2019) and is the creative producer of the feature film in development La Hondura.
He has extensive experience as an assistant director in feature films, commercials, and music videos, working on projects such as Una Madre (2021), Nocaut (2022), La Roya (2022), and La Piel en Primavera (2024).
