Maria Robles

Maria Robles was born in San Antonio, Texas. She is the second in her family since the 1800's to be born outside of Puerto Rico and is a proud "Texan-Rican". As a child, she loved to dance jazz and hip hop, until she was bitten by the acting bug in college.

Since then she has acted in theater, film, television and commercials. Eventually, she craved more creative control and decided to produce her own music videos ("Earth Mother"), pilot episodes ("L.I.F.E", "Apartments") and short films ("La flamenquera"). She has written and directed an episodic pilot and a short films. Her obsession with writing content that empowers women led to a vigilante origin story. This script, "La venganza de la flamenca", was selected to be produced by the Instituto de Cine Madrid and was nominated for "Best First Short" at MadFest 2023. Her production team won "Best Production Design" for the music video "Earth Mother" at the Apex Film Festival in 2020. She just moved back from Madrid, where she studied flamenco and completed an International Master’s in Film Production.
