Emmanuelle Mattana (she/they) is an actor and writer for stage and screen passionate about telling stories that blend the playful with the political and connect with young, queer audiences.
Her debut play 'Trophy Boys’ was twice extended Off-Broadway in a production directed by Tony Award Winner Danya Taymor. It has toured Australia for three consecutive years to sold-out audiences, critical acclaim, award recognition and upcoming International and translated productions.
Indie feature film 'Fwends', which she leads and co-wrote, premiered at the 75th Berlinale where it was awarded the Caligari prize, the first ever Australian film to receive the prestigious award which honours a stylistically and thematically innovative film. After a successful international festival circuit, the film was nominated for an AACTA Award for Best Indie Film, with Australian cinema distribution and is now streaming on Stan.
She is currently adapting Oscar winner Jane Campion's film 'Bright Star' for the stage and is on commission with Soho Theatre London, Red Stitch Actors Theatre and Fortyfivedownstairs. As a performer she is best known for leading three seasons of the International Emmy Kids® nominated tween series ‘Mustangs FC’ (ABCMe) and ‘Videoland’ (Netflix) which was awarded Best Comedy at Seriesmania.
