Antonio Vicent (Madrid, 1997) is a Spanish film director and screenwriter whose work is influenced by the Anglo-American canon. He earned a degree in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and spent his final year of studies at Trinity College Dublin, where he deepened his passion for writing-an activity he now practices almost daily. He later completed a screenwriting course at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts while pursuing a master's degree at Fordham University's Gabelli School of Business in New York. This experience proved pivotal in launching his career as a filmmaker; it was during this time that he wrote his first screenplays.
His cinematic vision was shaped in childhood, watching films by Frank Capra, William Wyler, and Ernst Lubitsch with his family. This classic Hollywood influence continues to define his creative voice, with John Ford, David Lean, and Billy Wilder as his principal artistic references.
In 2023, he made his professional debut with 29 de julio, a short film that was named a finalist at the Paterna Film Festival "Antonio Ferrandis" in the Best Young Director category, as well as at the second edition of Cortos Divinos, a competition organized by Divina Seguros in collaboration with the Spanish Film Academy, where it competed in the professional category.
A year later, he directed his feature debut, Aves de corral-a thriller with comedic elements starring Diego Anido, Pedro Casablanc, Olivia Baglivi, Jose Luis García-Pérez, Antonio Durán "Morris," Roberto Enríquez, Chechu Salgado, Belén Écija, Ramón Robles, Roberto Hoyo, Roberto García, Daniel Ibáñez, Clara Alvarado, Helena Kaittani, Lydia Ramírez, and Román Rymar. The film is awaiting commercial release.
