Raj Pritam More is a distinguished National Award-winning director and visual fine artist based in Mumbai, India. A two-time National Award recipient, Raj More graduated from the prestigious Sir J.J. School of Applied Arts in Mumbai. He gained widespread acclaim for his debut short film, Khisa (Pocket) (2020), which earned him the 67th National Film Award for Best Debut Director. In addition to his achievements in film, Raj More is also the recipient of the 54th National Academy Award by the Lalit Kala Akademi, Government of India, recognizing his contributions to the visual arts. His debut short film, Khisa (Pocket), has been celebrated on both national and international stages, garnering accolades such as the National Film Award, selection at the Berlin Film Festival, and inclusion in the Indian Panorama at IFFI (International Film Festival of India). The film also won awards at the 51st International Film Festival, the 7th Annual DFW South Asian Film Festival in the USA, and received a Certificate of Special Mention from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India, presented by the President of India in 2021. Additionally, it was honored at the Filmfare Short Film Awards 2021. Raj More continued to showcase his directorial prowess with his second short film, Bichauliya (Middleman) (2022), a Hindi adaptation of a story by renowned writer Saadat Hasan Manto. The film had its world premiere at South Asian Shorts in the USA and went on to win Best Director and Best Actor awards at the 3rd Mumbai International Cinema Festival (MICFF) in 2023. It was also screened at the Asian Corner in Melbourne and continues to be featured at international film festivals worldwide. Expanding his creative vision, Raj More is set to release his first full-length Marathi feature film, Khalid Ka Shivaji in 2024. With a proven track record of excellence in both short films and visual arts, Raj Pritam More continues to establish himself as a versatile and impactful storyteller in Indian cinema.
