James Anthony Usas

James Anthony Usas is a Canadian director and production designer based in Toronto. His feature debut, The Last Assassins (2026), screened at Fantasporto and was reviewed by The Guardian, with international distribution across North America, UK, Spain, Poland, and Latin America through Jinga Films. He received the Best Director award at the Miami Sci-fi Film Festival. Before directing, Usas spent over a decade in episodic set design on productions including Star Trek: Discovery, The Expanse, Beacon 23, Titans, and The Terminal List. He holds an architecture degree from the University of Waterloo and training through the Directors Guild of Canada and the Canadian Film Centre.
