Krishnanunni Mangalath is an Indian independent filmmaker, screenwriter, editor, and cinematographer from Trivandrum, Kerala. Known for his hands-on approach to low-budget and guerrilla filmmaking, Mangalath frequently handles multiple core creative roles on his projects, managing everything from writing and direction to editing . He made his directorial debut with Transition (2020), an experimental monochrome feature produced on a micro-budget of 10,000 INR (approx. 140 USD). Shot primarily on borrowed equipment, the film earned recognition on the independent festival circuit, winning Best Screenplay at the Chambal International Film Festival and a Special Mention at the Tamil Nadu International Film Festival. In 2026, Mangalath directed, co-wrote, and edited Triple Decker, an independent dark comedy feature streaming on ManoramaMAX. Co-scripted with Sahitya Akademi Award-winning writer Krishna Poojappura, the film was shot using lightweight guerrilla camera setups, including smartphones and DSLRs.
