Derick Halliman is an independent director, producer, and cinematographer whose work spans narrative film, television, and commercial production. Before Life of Mike earned its place as an official selection of the Directors Guild of America, Halliman had already established himself as a prolific short-form storyteller, directing acclaimed films such as Confirmation and the Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival-nominated The Assistant. He went on to executive produce the BET feature Never Alone for Christmas and has produced multiple programs for Black Enterprise’s television division. Halliman’s commercial work includes directing numerous campaigns for major pharmaceutical brands. A proud member of the Directors Guild of America, he is currently based in Atlanta.
